Chef Matt Mytro | Flour Restaurant
Chef Matt Mytro is approaching ten years of service at Flour Restaurant in Moreland Hills, Ohio. By his own account, people typically say, “Don’t hire Matt, he jumps around a lot.” Phraseology like that is endemic to the restaurant industry. In any other business that might be a stain on the résumé; however, this kind of movement is an accepted method of learning. He and business partner Chef Paul Minillo (not pictured) run the brick and mortar operation, in addition to a recently opened Flout Pizza Co. by Chef Mytro at Rocket Mortgage Field House, where the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA basketball team plays, as well as catering, and producing ready-to-eat products for local grocers – (see image 10, below.)
Like many other restaurants that have chosen Plan A in this time of pandemic, Flour Restaurant has faced an unknown path forward without much as batting an eye lash and seems to be doing just fine. But, as Mytro speculated, “transition back to normal before the time of pandemic,” will determine if restaurants truly “make it,” he said.
